Three people were arrested Thursday on charges of criminal intent to commit murder after reportedly shooting at a Frankfort family in their Thornhill home.

Frankfort Police spokesman Steve Clark said a couple with a 6-year-old child who live at 113 Swigert Ave. were involved in a verbal and physical altercation early Thursday morning with 22-year-old Jeffrey Scott West Jr. of 1321 Woodgate Road.

West reportedly left and returned two hours later around 3:45 a.m. to the home at 113 Swigert with 19-year-old Rebecca West of the same address, and 18-year-old Ricky Ray Maupin of 1321 Powhatan Trail.

Another verbal altercation took place between Jeffrey West and his two companions and the residents of 113 Swigert, Clark said. At that point, either Jeffrey West or Ricky Ray Maupin took a firearm from the vehicle being driven by Rebecca West and fired several shots into the home at 113 Swigert, Clark said.

The three suspects fled in the vehicle. No one in the home at 113 Swigert was injured, Clark said. A description of the vehicle and its occupants was broadcast over the police radio, Clark said, and subsequently, an officer spotted a vehicle fitting their description at about 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Peaks Mill Road and Owenton Road.
