BEREA – Frankfort High advanced to the All “A” 11th Region finals with a 105-66 win over Model Friday night in the semifinals.
Chris Current poured in 38 points – one shy of his career high – to lead Frankfort. Current, who added 11 rebounds, and the other starters played just barely over two quarters as the Panthers were never threatened.
A basket by Model’s Anthony Williamson made the score 21-13 in favor of Frankfort with 2:16 left in the first quarter. By the end of the period, FHS was ahead 34-13. Current scored 11 points in the final two minutes with freshman Aaron Dunaway scoring the remaining two points of the run.
“I was pleased with the way we started the game,” Frankfort coach Scott Chalk said. “We played really hard.
“I thought the subs did a good job, too,” Chalk added. “There wasn’t a lot of messing around. Everyone played like they should have.”
The Panthers dominated the glass all night. Clinton Hall, Joe Hyatt and Myron Moore pulled down five rebounds apiece while Tory Robertson, Aaron Jones, Matt Anderson, Emmanuel Fields and Ryan Cash collected four apiece.
