Family needs help after fire

Published 12:00 am Friday, April 11, 2003

Local firefighters are unsure what caused the blaze that severely damaged a Maverick Trail home Thursday, killing two pets and destroying nearly all the belongings of the family living there.

Lynn Harrison, of 111 Maverick Trail, said she was already at work Thursday morning when Frankfort dispatch called to let her know her home was burning. Firefighters, police and emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene at 8:48 a.m. and were able to contain the fire within 10 minutes.

The fire was reported to police by a neighbor living across the street.

Nearly all of Harrison’s belongings and those of her three teen-age children were destroyed by flames and smoke, she said.

“I would be more than grateful for any help,” Harrison said Thursday afternoon. “I don’t have anything right now.”
