The Midway Lady Eagles softball team finished the season strong, going 6-11 in the last three weeks of the season and making a great run in the conference tournament.
“We have a lot of talent coming back next year and a lot of talent coming in as freshmen which should prove to be a winning combination for Midway softball in 2004,” said first-year head softball coach Greg Dempsey. The Eagles finished the 2003 season at 14-39 overall and 7-20 in conference play.
The Lady Eagles started play in Week 7 against Saint Catharine. Midway lost both games by a 5-1 score, and the Lady Eagles lost both games of a doubleheader against Campbellsville, 6-5 and 2-1.
Midway split in a doubleheader with NCAA II opponent Centre College, losing the first game 7-0 and winning the second game 5-4.

The Lady Eagles lost two games to conference foe Berea College, 9-8 and 14-6, and dropped two games against conference foe Mid-Continent 4-3 and 9-0.
