Kentucky State University’s interim president told regents Friday he had a constructive meeting with students who the day before had protested the dismissal of a university vice president.
About 40 students attended Thursday’s work session to demonstrate against the recent firing of Kenneth Chatman, vice president of student affairs.
Interim President William H. Turner told the Board of Regents he met with 15 concerned students at noon Friday in what “was a good, cordial meeting.”
KSU Student Government Association President Kevin Jones, who serves as a student regent, attended the meeting between students and the president.
“It was a very successful and productive meeting, and the university is moving forward,” Jones said.
