Sullivan roars at Juniper Hill

Jennifer Sullivan won her third Juniper Hill Ladies Club Championship golf tournament in five years, but that wasn’t the talk of the day on the course.
Neither was the dominating way she won, winning by 14 strokes over runner-up Lesa Hodge.
What everyone at Juniper Hill on Sunday – and especially Sullivan – will remember most is the hole-in-one she hit on the par-three, third hole.
“That’s my first hole-in-one ever,” said Sullivan, who will soon begin her senior year on the Eastern Kentucky University golf team. “It was awesome.”
Sullivan aced the 155-yard hole with a 5-iron. That came after Sullivan had already birdied the first hole and was well on her way to the championship.
Though she never saw the ball go into the hole, she quickly figured out it was an ace.
“My mother and father and my uncle all saw it and they started screaming,” Sullivan said. “My mom was jumping up and down and I knew then it went in. There was a group playing on eight and they all started yelling, too.
“I knew I hit it well, but I didn’t think I hit it that well,” Sullivan added. “My heart just went in my throat after it went in. It was exciting. We were all high-fiving, and it’s something I’ll never forget.”
