Traffic accidents in Franklin County killed two people Saturday.

Mary H. Berryman, 61, of 156 Sunset Drive, died in an early morning accident on Georgetown Road. According to a Kentucky State Police report, Michael Greathouse, of Midway, was traveling northbound on KY 1682 and struck Berryman’s vehicle when he turned right onto U.S. 460.

The impact caused Berryman’s vehicle to exit the left side of the roadway, cross the westbound lane and overturn in a field. KSP Trooper Ed Logan and Det. Greg Wolf are investigating.

The second accident occurred at 4:59 p.m. on I-64.

According to a KSP report, Max Green, 45, of Lebanon Junction, failed to stop for traffic halted by road construction on I-64 westbound at the 51 mile marker. Green’s commercial tractor trailer hit four other vehicles before coming to a rest in the middle of the roadway, including one driven by Kathaleen Case, 45, of Vine Grove, Ky.
