Franklin County falls to Bobcats in Shootout

The Franklin County boys basketball team continues to show signs of good things to come.
But for now, the Flyers are still very young, and still very inexperienced.
Both their youth and inexperience stood out this week with three tough losses, to Augusta Tuesday night, to St. Henry Friday, and to Breathitt County Saturday night at FCHS during the final game of the Capital City Shootout.
The Flyers lost to the Bobcats 77-52.
Coach Scott Chalk indicated his team, still winless at 0-5, simply struggled matching up with the experience of the veteran Bobcats.
“We just didn’t get a lot done against a team that had experience,” Chalk said. “We gave up a lot of open shots and just didn’t play that well today.”
Chalk said his team played much better in Friday night’s game versus St. Henry.
“We played with such a great effort (Friday) night,” Chalk said of the Flyers’ 50-45 loss. “We played a lot harder and got out on their shooters and didn’t give up the open shots we gave up tonight. We rebounded better against St. Henry, too.”
