Trapped inside their home since Tuesday, members of the Crowdus family have been suffering through congestion, fever, coughing and body aches. They have the flu.
“It hits you like a brick,” Cindy Crowdus said. “It’s pretty miserable.”
A nurse at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, Cindy was offered a flu vaccine but did not accept it.
“Now I wish we had,” she said.
But for those fearing the virus, vaccines are no longer available in Franklin County, according to Rosie Miklavcic, director of the Franklin County Health Department.
“We’re out,” she said, noting the center had administered close to 5,000 vaccinations since Oct. 15.
