Services for Frances Roberts Gay, 102, will be conducted from Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Gene Roberts and Rev. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Alton Cemetery, Anderson Co. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gay passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Heritage Hall Care Center.
Frances was born in Franklin County, KY, to the late Clarence and Lucy Wash Roberts. She was employed by Genesco Shoe for 25 years. Frances was a member of the Frankfort Homemakers, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of New Life Worship Center, and a lifetime businesswoman.
She leaves behind a son, Denny Gay, Frostproof, FL; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Berdine Gay; son, Ruddy Gay; brother, Edwin P. Roberts; sister, Rosa Lee Clark; and grandson, Tommy Gay.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Gay be made to Ninevah Christian Church Building Fund, 1195 Ninevah Road, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
