The Knights of Columbus will host a fish fry from 5-8 p.m. in the Parish Life Center, 72 Shepherd Way off Leestown Road. The menu includes Icelandic cod, baked potato or French fries, cole slaw and hush puppies.

The Kentucky State University Choir, under the leadership of Dr. Phillip Rogers, will perform at the 10:45 a.m. worship service at First Christian Church, 316 Ann St. The public is invited.

The Tiger Cub Scouts of Pack 6 are sponsoring a pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. in the fellowship hall of First Christian Church, 316 Ann St. The breakfast will feature pancakes, bacon, eggs, juice and milk.

Tickets are $5 and funds will benefit the pack’s activities in the coming year. The event will also feature “Hot Chocolate and the Marshmallows,” a Frankfort-based group performing Kentucky roots music from 8:15-9. For more information, contact Pack Master Jim Webb at 502-330-6688.

The 17th Annual Bean Soup Lunch, sponsored by the Franklin County Chapter of the American Red Cross, will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 30 at V.F.W. Post 4075, 104 E. Second St.

Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at the Chapter House, 318 Washington St., or at the door.Lunch includes bean soup, cornbread, drink and dessert with all the proceeds benefiting Red Cross local disaster relief efforts. Eat in or carry out.
