A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Sayle, 87, will be conducted from South Frankfort Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, with Reverend Wade Hughes officiating, and assisted by Rev. David Wadsworth. Family and friends will be received at the church Monday beginning at 11 a.m. A private committal service will be observed by the family, but everyone is invited to a reception at the church at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Sayle passed away Friday at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Mary was born in Franklin Co., Ky., and was married to Edward Bradley “Peewee” Sayle until his passing on November 10, 2009. After 37 years of service, she retired as a programmer analyst for the Department of Economic Security. She was a member of Circle 4 and the South Frankfort Presbyterian Church where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher. Mary’s family will remember her as a child at heart who thought the best of everyone.
She is survived by son, Charles Lindsey “Chuck” Sayle (Janet L.); daughter, Patty Jo Talley (Pat); grandchildren, Jonathan A. Sayle, Jacksonville, FL, Bethany G. Sewell, Joseph K. Sayle, Richmond, VA, Mary C. Robinson, Gloucester, VA, Brooke Talley and Christopher P. Talley; four great-grandchildren, Makayla, Brendan, Chase, and Charity; and sister, Anna Lee “Skipper” Fossett (Edward). In addition to her husband of 65 years, she was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Belle Miller Sutton.
Jim Harp, Fred Sewell, Jeff Fossett, Jonathan Sayle, Christopher Talley, and Pat Talley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Long, Jr., Joseph Sayle, Brooks and Monnie Talley, Edward Fossett, Bill Sayle, Annelle Downey, and Ruth Sudduth.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Mary’s memory to the Franklin County Humane Society, 1041 Kentucky Ave, Frankfort, KY 40601.
