Wolverines cruise past Spencer 13-2

TAYLORSVILLE — Western Hills’ baseball team posted runs in five out of seven innings and cruised to a 13-2 victory at Spencer County Monday.
WHHS (3-4) scored four runs in the first and seventh innings, two runs in the third and fifth innings and a single run in the sixth.
Spencer County (4-2) scored single runs in the second and fourth innings.
Jesse Howard had three hits for the Wolverines with three singles and three RBI.
Landon Arflack hit a three-run home run in the first inning and drove in a run with a single in the third inning.
Thomas Bennett and Conner Graves both singled twice, and Bennett drove in three runs. Dalton Tucker and Tyler Anglin each had a base hit.
Luke Wheatley was WHHS’ starting pitcher and went six innings. He struck out four batters and gave up six hits and two walks. Kaleb Hupp finished the game in relief.
Avery Vannatta singled twice for the Bears.
Western Hills played at Danville Tuesday, and its next game is at home Thursday against Anderson County.
