RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Family members say the woman accused of taking part in a plot to behead three government informants from a recent terrorism trial was a dedicated teacher.

Relatives of Nevine Aly Elshiekh say they have difficulty believing the charges. Authorities say she paid a hit man for the beheadings.

Elshiekh's father, Aly Elshiekh, says his 46-year-old daughter dedicated her life to helping kids with disabilities.

Also arrested in the plot was 21-year-old Shkumbin Sherifi. Authorities say his older brother, 27-year-old Hysen Sherifi, masterminded the plot from jail. Hysen Sherifi was sentenced last month to 45 years in prison for conspiring to attack the U.S. Marine base in Quantico, Va.

Shkumbin Sherifi frequently spoke out and said his brother was framed by federal agents.
