GAMBIER, Ohio (AP) -- First lady Michelle Obama has encouraged hundreds of supporters at an Ohio college campus to give her husband a second term.

Obama told students at Kenyon College in Gambier Saturday night they should consider changing their weekend plans by bringing a date to the local campaign office.

She cited a familiar campaign statistic that President Barack Obama only carried Ohio by 24 votes per precinct in 2008.

Michelle Obama also spoke at Miami University in Ohio earlier in the day.

At both campuses she stressed the importance of the auto bailout, the new health care law, the end of the Iraq war and her husband's support of women's issues.

Also on Saturday GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan addressed supporters in Marietta in southeastern Ohio.
