NJ governor to attend rally for Super Bowl champs

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be on hand at the Meadowlands for a rally to celebrate the team's victory in the Super Bowl.

The rally is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Met Life stadium on Tuesday, following a ticker tape parade through Lower Manhattan's "Canyon of Heroes."

Officials are planning a special welcome for the Giants when their charter plane lands at Newark Liberty International Airport Monday afternoon.

The Port Authority says a water cannon will salute the Super Bowl champions as their plane taxis to a hangar. The players will get on buses before heading to the team's headquarters in East Rutherford.
