LONDON (AP) -- The Anschutz Entertainment Group says it does not want to buy Tottenham but retains strong ties with the Premier League club.
AEG President Tim Leiweke said in a statement to The Associated Press that British reports his company is "interested in or has been negotiating for the purchase of Tottenham are completely untrue."
Tottenham is searching for investors to fund a new stadium after a failed joint bid with AEG to move into London's Olympic Stadium.
Leiweke says AEG enjoys "a very good business and personal relationship with Tottenham and have been involved with a number of transactions over the years. However at no time have we had a desire to purchase that club."
Leiweke says the "great relationship" will continue "moving forward."
