PARIS (AP) -- Defending champion Lille made up ground in the title race and consolidated third place by edging Lorient 1-0 in the French league on Saturday.
Fullback Mathieu Debuchy scored the winning goal by flicking home a cross from Benoit Pedretti in the 76th minute.
Lille trails leader Paris Saint-Germain by eight points.
PSG hosts second-place Montpellier on Sunday with the top spot at stake.
