GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -- Celtic extended its lead over Glasgow rival Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League to 20 points Wednesday with a 2-0 win over last-place Dunfermline.
Defender Charlie Mulgrew scored his second goal in four days and James Forrest added a late goal to give Celtic a 19th straight win in domestic league and cup competition.
Rangers' hopes of defending the title were hit last week by a 10-point deduction for breaching competition rules by entering bankruptcy protection, but Celtic's strong form had already overturned a deficit that stood at 15 points as recently as Nov. 5.
Celtic's winning run started the next day.
Also Wednesday, Michael Higdon hit a hat trick in third-place Motherwell's 4-3 win over Hibernian.
