Dominant China wins fifth gold at Diving World Cup

LONDON (AP) -- China extended its dominance at the Diving World Cup on Thursday when Cao Yuan and Zhang Yanquan made it five golds out of five at the Aquatics Center set to be used for the London Olympics.

In the men's 10-meter synchronized platform event, Cao and Zhang finished 21.12 points ahead of Mexican pair Ivan Alejandro Garcia and German Sanchez. Patrick Hausding and Stephan Feck of Germany took bronze.

"We won the gold medal two years ago," Cao said. "We haven't even thought about what happens if we don't get gold."

The Chinese upstaged home favorite Tom Daley, who languished in seventh place with partner Pete Waterfield following criticism from their coach that the 17-year-old Daley was too focused on his burgeoning media career.
