Sean Woods, MVSU riding 15-game win streak in SWAC

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) -- Sean Woods dealt with plenty of adversity as a player at Kentucky.

Now in his fourth-year as coach of Mississippi Valley, Woods has often called on those experiences -- with favorable results.

The tiny school in the Mississippi Delta is having its best season in years; the Delta Devils are 15-0 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

Mississippi Valley has clinched the league's regular-season championship, which comes with an automatic berth to the National Invitation Tournament. But for the ultimate prize -- a spot in the NCAA tournament -- the Delta Devils must win the conference tournament in Dallas.

Woods will always be linked to his time at Kentucky, where he was one of "The Unforgettables," a quartet of Wildcats who brought the program back to prominence in the early 1990s.
