SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Gonzaga closed out the regular season with a 65-57 victory over San Diego on Saturday, but still saw its 11-year run as regular-season champion of the West Coast Conference come to an end.
The Bulldogs (23-5, 13-3) finished second after St. Mary's (14-2) clinched the conference title with a 67-60 win over San Francisco later Saturday. The top two seeds get a bye into the semifinals of the West Coast tournament next Saturday.
Guy Landry Edi scored 13 points, Robert Sacre and Kevin Pangos each added 11 and Elias Harris had 12 rebounds for Gonzaga.
Johnny Dee had 13 points, and Darian Norris and Dennis Kramer added 10 each for San Diego (12-17, 7-9). The Toreros will be the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament and face No. 7 Pepperdine on Thursday.
Gonzaga pulled ahead 59-57 on a jumper by Sacre with 1:51 remaining and closed the game on an 8-0 run.
