Hungarian football club director kills himself

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) -- A Hungarian football club with several current and former players suspected of match-fixing says its director has killed himself.

The Budapest-based REAC team says Robert Kutasi died Thursday. Police say he jumped off a building. He was 48.

Six REAC players were taken into custody by police on Tuesday. They are under preliminary arrest in a match-fixing scandal in which 25 people have been questioned by Hungarian prosecutors.

Despite the arrests of its players, REAC and its officials are not suspected of being involved in the match-fixing.

Kutasi, a leading anti-corruption figure in Hungarian football, told the sports daily Nemzeti Sport earlier this week that "my life is over" because of the case.
