LONDON (AP) -- AC Milan withstood a stirring comeback from Arsenal to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time since winning the title in 2007 despite losing 3-0 on Tuesday.
Arsenal nearly completed a miraculous comeback but coudn't force extra time, with Milan going through 4-3 on aggregate.
Arsenal scored all of its goals in the first half. Laurent Koscielny found the net in the seventh minute with an unmarked header. Tomas Rosicky scored in the 26th minute after a poor defensive clearance, sending the home crowd into a frenzy at Emirates Stadium.
Oxlade-Chamberlain won a penalty a few minutes before halftime when he was fouled while running between Djamel Mesbah and Antonio Nocerino. Robin van Persie converted the spot kick with a shot into the top right corner.
