BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Indiana University has fired women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack and will begin searching for her successor.
Athletic director Fred Glass made the announcement Monday, more than a week after the Hoosiers wrapped up a 6-24 season -- the worst of Legette-Jack's six-year tenure in Bloomington.
Last spring, Legette-Jack signed a two-year contract extension. But Glass says after conducting a thorough review and meeting with all of the current players, he has determined Legette-Jack cannot turn around a program that won only 15 games the past two seasons.
Legette-Jack started her Indiana tenure by leading the Hoosiers to three straight WNIT appearances and a 21-win season in 2008-09, the last time they got a postseason bid.
