WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) -- Court documents say the fastest speed the car a college football player was driving when he was fatally shot by a New York police officer was 24.1 mph.

Danroy Henry Jr.'s speed has been an issue in the investigation of the 2010 shooting. A grand jury cleared the officer of wrongdoing but Henry's family is pursuing a lawsuit and releasing dozens of documents.

The 20-year-old from Easton, Mass., was killed as he pulled away from a bar disturbance in Thornwood, N.Y.

A report by Westchester County police says his car was going 24.1 mph when it hit a police cruiser. A few seconds earlier the speed was 14.7 mph.

The officer alleged that the car came at him at a high speed, then hit him before he shot Henry.
