PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) -- Padraig Harrington has set the course record at the Transitions Championship with a 10-under 61, the lowest score of his professional career.
Harrington rolled in a 75-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th, and then finished his record round Thursday on the Copperhead course at Innisbrook with a 15-foot birdie. He one-putted his last five holes.
Harrington's previous low was a 62 three times, most recently the Portugal Masters in 2009. The course record at Innisbrook was 62, held by Mark Calcavecchia in 2007 and Jeff Sluman in 2004.
The three-time major champion has not won since the Johor Open in the fall of 2010. He was among the early starters in gorgeous weather with only a light breeze.
