OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Virginia is about to put its pack-line defense on display for the nation against a Florida team well-suited for attacking it.

The 10th-seeded Cavaliers (22-9) and No. 7 Gators (23-10) meet Friday in the NCAA West Regional in Omaha, Neb.

The Gators like to get up and down the court and shoot early in the shot clock. The Cavaliers like to play a half-court game.

Florida averages better than 76 points a game. The Cavs are allowing 53.7 points.

The pack-line defense starts with players along an imaginary arc about 16 feet from the basket. A defender doesn't cross the line unless his man gets the ball. When the ball is passed, the defender goes back to the pack and a different defender goes out to cover his man.
