TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Yankees closer Mariano Rivera threw his third consecutive scoreless inning in New York's 6-3 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday.
Rivera needed just eight pitches to extend his spring training stretch of not giving up an earned run to 24 innings. The last earned run that the right-hander allowed came on March 15, 2008, against Tampa Bay.
New York's Hiroki Kuroda allowed one run and three hits in four innings, throwing 49 of 59 pitches for strikes.
Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer off Bud Norris for a 5-0 lead in the second.
Houston closer Brett Myers threw two innings in his second straight scoreless outing after allowing at least one run in each of first four appearances.
BRAVES (SS) 5, BLUE JAYS (SS) 3
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Brandon Beachy allowed two hits while striking out six over four innings and Dan Uggla homered as Atlanta beat Toronto in a split-squad game.
Uggla, who didn't play Friday, homered in his third straight game. He connected with a man on in the sixth inning off Blue Jays prospect Deck McGuire.
Beachy walked five in his previous start and came in with a 9.00 ERA. But he gave up only one walk and the Blue Jays' run against him came after a popup to shallow left field ended up a triple.
BRAVES (SS) 3, METS 2
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) -- David Ross hit a go-ahead, two-run double in a three-run eighth inning that led an Atlanta Braves' split squad over the Mets.
Mets starter Jonathon Niese allowed six hits -- all singles -- in 5 1-3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts and no walks.
Atlanta starter Kris Medlin gave up one hit in four shutout innings, struck out four and walked one.
New York's Daniel Murphy had two hits, including a two-run single in the sixth.
Martin Prado, Jason Heyward and Ross each had two hits for the Braves. Heyward also stole a base.
MARLINS (SS) 1, NATIONALS 1
VIERA, Fla. (AP) -- Jordan Zimmermann threw four scoreless innings in his third start of spring training and Washington tied a Miami split squad.
Zimmermann, who gave up four runs on seven hits in his previous outing, struck out three and gave up six hits. Four of those hits came with two outs.
Chad Tracy grounded out with the bases loaded in the first inning for Washington's run.
Marlins catcher John Buck had two hits and tied the game in the sixth inning with a home run off Washington reliever Rafael Martin.
TWINS 5, MARLINS (SS) 2
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) -- Hanley Ramirez hit his second home run and Ricky Nolasco pitched five solid innings but a Miami split squad lost to Minnesota.
The Marlins trailed 1-0 when Ramirez connected off Carl Pavano for a long two-run home run to left-center with two outs in the fifth.
Nolasco allowed a run and five hits. He walked three and struck out three. Danny Valencia hit a solo homer off Nolasco with two outs in the first.
Pavano left after Ramirez's homer. He allowed two runs and five hits in 4 2-3 innings.
RED SOX (SS) 3, ORIOLES (SS) 3, 10 INNINGS
SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -- Wei-Yin Chen became the first Baltimore pitcher to throw five innings this spring and the Orioles tied Boston in a game of split squads.
Chen also displayed a nifty pickoff move that nabbed two runners.
Making his third spring start, Chen blanked Boston until the fifth when Ryan Lavarnway and Pedro Ciriaco singled and Nate Spears hit a three-run homer.
Aaron Cook pitched 3 1-3 scoreless innings for Boston, giving up one hit.
RED SOX (SS) 7, ORIOLES (SS) 4
FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- Josh Beckett gave up one run in five solid innings and Boston beat Baltimore in a split-squad game.
Beckett started a double play, struck out two and walked one. He allowed two hits.
Orioles starter Armando Galarraga gave up four runs and six hits in four inning.
The Orioles brought over mostly bench players and minor leaguers. But the game marked shortstop prospect Manny Machado's first start in the Grapefruit League. The third overall pick in the 2010 draft out of Miami Brito High went 0 for 1 with two walks.
PHILLIES 4, BLUE JAYS (SS) 3, 10 INNINGS
CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- Hector Luna's RBI single in the 10th inning lifted Philadelphia over a Toronto split squad 4-3.
The Phillies, already missing Ryan Howard and Chase Utley, lost another All-Star infielder to injury. Third baseman Placido Polanco left the game after injuring his left ring finger diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt.
J.P. Arencibia also hit a solo shot for Toronto.
Vance Worley threw four scoreless innings. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless inning around two hits.
Blue Jays starter Brandon Morrow allowed a run and five hits in 3 1-3 innings.
RAYS 2, PIRATES 1
BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) -- James Shields struck out seven in six innings and allowed his first earned run of spring training as Tampa Bay beat Pittsburgh.
Tampa Bay's scheduled opening-day starter, Shields allowed four hits and walked none.
Luke Scott homered in the fifth off Jeff Karstens. Carlos Pena tripled off Joel Hanrahan in the sixth, Pena's first hit of spring training and Hanrahan's first hit allowed.
Karstens allowed three hits and three walks, striking out five in five innings.
Andrew McCutchen homered for the first time in the exhibition season.
TIGERS 10, CARDINALS 3
LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) -- Ryan Raburn hit his fifth home run this spring and Delmon Young homered and doubled, leading Detroit over St. Louis.
Prince Fielder went 3 for 3 with a standup triple and Young raised his exhibition batting average to .519.
Matt Holliday homered for the Cardinals.
Andy Oliver threw two more scoreless innings for the Tigers. He hasn't allowed an earned run in nine innings this spring.
Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia allowed four earned runs in 4 1-3 innings and walked three.
