LONDON (AP) -- Bolton says midfielder Fabrice Muamba is showing "small signs of improvement" and his heart is beating without the help of medication two days after suffering a cardiac arrest during a match.

In a joint statement with the hospital treating Muamba, the club says he is also moving his arms and his legs.

But the statement cautioned that "his long-term prognosis will remain unclear for some time. He is still critically ill."
