Central's LeVert is most outstanding in D1

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Caris LeVert, who scored 20 points as Pickerington Central won its first state championship, is the most outstanding player on the 2012 Associated Press Division I all-tournament team.

LeVert, a senior headed for Ohio University, totaled 43 points and seven rebounds in the Tigers' two victories. He led all scorers in a 45-40 win over Toledo Whitmer in Saturday night's championship game.

Joining him on the team are teammate Jae'Sean Tate, who had 26 points and 17 rebounds in the two games.

Also on the team are Leroy Alexander of Whitmer (36 points, 13 rebounds in two games), his teammate Nigel Hayes (33 points, 22 rebounds) and Miles Hamilton of Lakewood St. Edward (24 points and five rebounds in a semifinal loss).
