Risky Rachel wins Big A's Broadway Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) -- Risky Rachel, returning from a five-month layoff, scored an easy win Saturday as the 6-5 favorite, beating Big Brownie by 6½ lengths in the $75,000 Broadway Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

Cornelio Velasquez was aboard as the 5-year-old got her fifth victory in 11 starts. Risky Rachel was the first starter for trainer Juan Coronel, a longtime assistant on the New York circuit who has opened his own stable.

The time was 1:10.55 for the six furlongs.

Risky Rachel paid $4.70, $2.80 and $2.60. Big Brownie returned $2.90 and $2.40 while Nicole's Miss El paid $5.80 to show.
