BSU's Felix leads decathlon at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Boise State senior Kurt Felix leads the decathlon after the first five events at the Texas Relays.

Felix finished first in the long jump with a leap of 25 feet, 4 ¾ inches and was second in the high jump with at 6-7 ½ to finish the day with 4,194 points, barely edging Texas freshman Isaac Murphy, who is just two points behind.

Murphy finished first in the 100 meters in 10.47 seconds and was second in the 400 meters, running a 48.01 on a track wet from light rain. Murphy also finished second in the long jump with a mark of 24-8 ½.

West Virginia's Chelsea Carrier-Eades leads the heptathlon with 3,536 points behind a victory in the 100 hurdles (13.40).
