LIVERPOOL, England (AP) -- Liverpool will play a high-profile preseason friendly match against Italian side Roma at Fenway Park in Boston as part of the Premier League club's tour of North America this summer.
The match will form part of the ballpark's 100th anniversary celebrations and is one of two confirmed games Liverpool will play on its 12-day tour.
Liverpool was bought in 2010 by the Fenway Sports Management, which also owns the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
Liverpool owner John Henry says the match between "two of the world's most well-known and respected clubs" will "showcase our ballpark to an international audience."
Liverpool is the fourth Premier League team to announce a preseason tour of the United States, following Chelsea, Tottenham and Villa.
