LONDON (AP) -- Jermain Defoe scored once in each half Sunday as Tottenham beat West Ham 3-1 to end a run of three straight Premier League losses.
The England striker found the net in the 44th and 64th minutes at White Hart Lane to tally seven league goals for the season.
Spurs winger Gareth Bale made it 2-0 in the 58th minute.
On-loan striker Andy Carroll scored in the 82nd minute for his first goal in 11th league appearances for West Ham since moving from Liverpool in August.
Tottenham rose to seventh spot, five points out of the Champions League places. West Ham is a point and place behind Spurs.
Spurs lost to Arsenal, Manchester City and Wigan in its previous league matches.
