ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Dimitris Salpingidis scored twice within eight minutes in the first half -- both times with overhead kicks -- and Klaus Athanasiadis added another in between to lead PAOK to a 3-1 win over last-place Kerkyra in the Greek league on Saturday.
The hosts scored all of their goals from the 26th to 34th minutes and could have added more in a fast-paced game where both teams' defenses were shaky.
Kerkyra had its share of chances and narrowed the margin in the 68th through Yannis Gessios.
The win helped PAOK rise into second place, 14 points behind league leader Olympiakos, which hosts Aris on Sunday, and two ahead of Asteras, which can reclaim second place if it beats Levadiakos at home on Sunday.
Also, Veria won 2-0 at Xanthi and Panathinaikos beat OFI 3-1.
