BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Brazilian forward Jonas scored twice to secure Valencia a 2-2 draw at 10-man Real Zaragoza on Saturday, provisionally lifting the team into fifth place in the Spanish league.
Antonio "Apono" Galdeano drove a spot kick into the lower right corner to give Zaragoza the lead five minutes in after Victor Ruiz fouled Helder Postiga in the area.
Postiga's headed goal doubled the advantage in the 32nd, but Jonas pulled one back from a cross by Ali Cissokho four minutes later.
Jonas made good on Valencia's second-half dominance when he tapped in a free kick headed on by Ruiz in the 69th.
Zaragoza held on to earn a point for the final 13 minutes after goalkeeper Leo Franco was sent off for handling the ball outside the area in a desperate maneuver to stop Roberto Soldado's progress.
Zaragoza's winless run reached eight straight games. It is five points above the drop zone.
Also, striker Adrian Colunga netted a brace to help Getafe to a 3-1 comeback win at Mallorca and break a four-game away losing streak.
Mallorca forward Giovani dos Santos opened in the 24th through an individual effort by dribbling past his marker and curling a shot off the upright and into the net.
But the game swung in Getafe's favor in the 70th when Diego Castro converted a spot kick after Mallorca defender Jose Nunes was called for a hand ball when it appeared he had blocked a pass with his shoulder.
Colunga headed Getafe in front in the 82nd before adding another goal four minutes from time.
Mallorca remained in the relegation zone and winless in its last eight games. Getafe moved into ninth place.
Later, leader Barcelona hosts Sevilla, while Real Madrid visits last-place Deportivo La Coruna.
