Kentucky families sought for exchange students

Published:

Pacific Intercultural Exchange hopes to bring 10 students to Kentucky to learn about our unique heritage and our American way of life. So far 2 families have been found and more are needed.

Students are 15-18 years old and speak English. They will have their own spending money and health insurance; host families provide room and board. Students will attend local area high schools.

Coming from such countries as South Korea, Germany, Brazil, Turkey, Mexico, Hong Kong and Venezuela, the students have a variety of interests. They enjoy sports, music, arts, travel, cooking, gardening and volunteering and they are looking forward to finding a host family to share their interests and teach them new things as well.

There is no typical host family! Empty nesters, single parents, large and small families can all enjoy hosting. Families don't need to have a teen to host and students can share a room with a host sibling of the same gender.

Students come to be part of the family, which means doing chores, visiting relatives and sharing holiday traditions. These young ambassadors will be arriving soon and we need host families to come forward now so we can begin the process of screening the families and working with the schools.
