2007 AT&T Excelerator Overview
AT&T Excelerator is a competitive grant program for projects that use technology to help nonprofit organizations build stronger communities and meet their missions by improving technology resources, including hardware, software and networking tools.
In 2007, the AT&T Foundation provided $9 million in AT&T Excelerator competitive local community grants to 680 organizations nationwide to help nonprofits fully integrate technology into their ongoing operations and community outreach.
AT&T Excelerator grants also help nonprofit organizations put technology tools in the hands of the communities that the nonprofits serve in order to provide resources such as Internet access, computer training, math and reading programs and job-skills development.

The grant will be used to implement an internet-based program support system, which includes a case management system. Also planned is an interactive website with online donation, volunteer application and communications capabilities.
"The AT&T Excelerator program has demonstrated the importance of how technology can benefit communities and organizations," said David Weller, Regional Manager for AT&T. "These organizations, along with others across the state, will continue to use technology funded by this program to empower the community and change the lives of the people whom they serve on a day-to-day basis."
"The new online service delivery application and interactive website funded by the AT&T Excelerator program will help us with our mission of matching more children with caring adult mentors here in Central Kentucky," said Joe Gomes, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass. "AT&T's support will make a tremendous difference in our ability to connect with our supporters, our volunteers, our community, and the children and families we serve."
