Lewis. M. Lee III


My father's obituary was supposed to appear in the State Journal today. Due to a mistake by the paper, it did not appear in the printed version. In honor of my father, I am posting it here:

Lewis M. Lee III, 69, husband of Billie Summerford, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. He was a retired Special Agent for the Department of Health and Human Services for the U.S. Government. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, son of the late Lewis Maurice and Earline Coker Lee Jr. He was a member of the Forks of Elkorn Baptist Church and an avid golfer and bowler. Surviving besides his wife are 5 daughters, Laurie [Michael] Lee, Marietta, Georgia, Lyn Guarnieri Bruckner [Kimball], Frankfort, Lesley Lee, Frankfort, Lisa Lee [Ron] Saylor, Shelbyville and Lacy Lee [Larry] Conway, Bedford, 1 sister, Marla Lee Hoyle, Birmingham, Alabama, 12 grandchildren; Sandra Guarnieri [Corwin), Perrysburg, Ohio, Miranda Lynlee Guarnieri, Michael Guarnieri, Thomas A. Guarnieri, Haley Anne Bruckner and Benjamin E. Bruckner all of Frankfort, Amanda M. Saylor, Haley E. Saylor, Nicholas A. Saylor and Jacob A. Saylor all of Shelbyville, Joseph M. Simmons and Phillip S. Lee both of Bedford and 2 great grandchildren, Tess Sofia Carr and Corwin James Carr IV both of Perrysburg, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by a brother Ronnie M. Lee. Funeral service will be noon Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Clark Legacy Center 3800 Versailles Road, conducted by Rev. Todd Lester with entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Michael Lee, Ron Saylor, Kimball Bruckner, Larry Conway, Corwin Carr, Michael Guarnieri, Thomas Guarnieri and Joseph Simmons. Honorary casketbearers will be Kenneth Harp. Gary Dean, C.R. Wheeler, Ron Miller, Rick Haydon and Doug Rhody. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clark Legacy Center. Contributions may be made to Forks of Elkorn Baptist Church Building Fund 495 Duckers Road Midway, Kentucky 40347.
