Go Frankfort - Volunteers Needed for May 21st

Published:

Go Frankfort will be organizing volunteers on May 21st to work on community projects and to help local charities in Frankfort. The work will consist of everything from construction projects to landscaping projects to painting projects with the volunteer opportunities too numerous to list. We will be helping local charities including the Kings Center, Simon House, L.I.F.E. House, Franklin County Humane Society, Frankfort YMCA, Safe House, Adopt-A-Highway and Sunshine Center as well as performing community projects that include completing the mural located next to the Franklin County Farmers Market. The day begins with check-in at 8 AM in front of Frankfort First United Methodist Church with work taking place from 9 AM until 1 PM. After the work is completed, we will have a block party which will include a cook out and activities for the kids. Come out and make a difference with us and register on-line at www.gofrankfort.org to be a part of Go Frankfort.

What is Go Frankfort?
Go Frankfort started as a group of friends with a desire to make a difference in Franklin County, Kentucky. As our passion for helping our community grew, so did Go Frankfort. Our first priority is to help take care of our community and the people within it. Our second goal is to encourage others to do the same. Volunteerism demonstrates to the world our real and committed belief that today is the day we have a chance to do something good for our community and ourselves.

As Go Frankfort, citizens of this great community come together as one to take action to help local charities and provide labor for community projects in Frankfort. Go Frankfort organizes two volunteer days each year in order to assist with projects that help local agencies continue to do what they do best... take care of our neighbors. We hope that Go Frankfort Volunteer Days will encourage our volunteers to continue in service to agencies throughout the year.

In our first three events over 400 individuals have come together from throughout Frankfort to help others. Side by side we have worked on over 32 different projects with volunteers, young and old. Everyone has the ability help make a difference! Let us help show you how! Go with us! Go Frankfort! www.gofrankfort.org or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Go Frankfort also hosts prior to our volunteer days the Patches O'Houlihan Memorial Dodgeball Tournament. The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday October 15th. Space is limited so sign-up early. Start Dodging Frankfort and Let's Make a Difference.
