Published:

Friendly reminder - pets should be kept inside during fireworks and whenever possible during thunderstorms. Many pets go missing because of storms and fireworks which could easily be avoided by securing the pets inside homes. Everyone try hard to keep their pets safe.

If a pet escapes, immediately contact Franklin County Humane Society for advice on actions to take - 875-7297. Notify the local animal control officers by leaving a message for them with the Dispatch Office at 875-8583. And there is a business called FindToto.com that will generate specific location phone calls for a fee with information about a lost pet.
