WALTON, KY--Douglas F. Pinger is a great-grandfather with extensive EPA/OSHA credentials. Born in 1942, he had been employed maintaining a safe environment for many years. He was green when green was just a color. His long-term commitment to the environment made Junk King and their junk removal and recycling business, a natural fit. Pinger wanted to remain active and provide a valuable service to the community.

Doug has two daughters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He has been a part of some larger organization since a stint in the Navy starting in 1959. Adding less to the landfills, recycling and donating more “junk” hit home with him. He found common ground with Junk King’s green and interactive business plan. Doug Pinger hopes Northern Kentucky will see the added benefits green junk removal and recycling offers to the community.

Junk King was born in 2005, the brainchild of two childhood friends who wanted to form a junk hauling business that was dependable, affordable, and green. The company hauls most any waste including appliances, construction materials, yard waste, furniture, electronics and rubbish. Only hazardous waste is excluded from their list. All franchises are fully bonded, insured, and licensed. The company says they will beat any written estimate for the removal of junk. All franchises are also on board with the 60 percent recyclables and donation program. The company is based in San Carlos, California.

Wondering how much business could there be in junk removal? Junk King has almost 40 locations nationwide, with more on the way. Gone are the days of the local jack-of-all trades pulling up to your house in a rickety-pickup truck and hauling away everything and dumping it in a landfill. Junk King hauls junk for individual homeowners, realtors, property managers, and businesses large and small. They are full-service and pick up the debris where it lays. You don’t have to do anything but point.

Each truck holds about 18 cubic yards of debris. Most are equipped with GPS devices. How much junk could there be that needs to be hauled? In 2010, there was $3.8 billion in junk removal revenues. Doug Pinger noticed the potential in the junk hauling and recycling business in Northern Kentucky and jumped in. Now he is working for himself and building a business from the ground up.

Junk King Northern Kentucky is located at 11075 Dixie Highway, Suite 202, Walton, KY 41094. For an appointment phone 1-800-995-JUNK.
