By sponsoring Senate Bill 129, which seeks to nullify Federal law, Senator Carpenter has shown that he does not have the People’s best interest at heart. The time he consumed submitting a Bill and getting it passed is a waste of our tax dollars, and all for his personal political posturing and grandstanding. He knows that any State law that contradicts Federal law will be thrown out by the court (which, would then take up more of the People’s time and tax dollars paying to defend an indefensible law). If members of the Legislature have so much free time, as to waste it on things like this, then I guess they’ve already fixed all the real problems in the State.
