WARM HEARTS WARM FEET AT HOMELESS SHELTERS

Students at Triniity Christian Academy  of  Lexington Kentucky collected nearly 1000 pairs of brand new socks for children living in homeless shelters.  The Sixth grade Faith Walk class at Pax Christi  Catholic Church  in Lexington also participated in the socks drive, and donated nearly 400 pairs of socks.  The Socks drive was organized by S.O.C.K.S Inc, a non-profit corporation  in Frankfort, Kentucky  which is  dedicated to serving at-risk children, including children  in foster care or who are living in homeless shelters.  Sassy Fox Consignment shop, on Richmond Road in Lexington, served as drop off locations for the socks drive. Members of  St Paul United Methodist Church of Frankfort gave nearly 200 pairs of socks.
  “We exceeded our  goal of one-thousand pairs of socks.”  said S.O.C.K.S.’ director, Cynthia Elliott.  “Now, many children will have warm feet this winter,  thanks to these caring and genourous hearts.”.  S.O.C.K.S.  Inc.hopes to make this an annual event.  Anyone still interested in donating can drop off  new socks for children ages birth to teenage at Sassy Fox Consignment, 3101 Richmond Rd. in the Man O War Shopping Center, or call 859-221-8010 for more information. The socks will be donated to Arbor House, Chrsallis House, Simon House and Clark County Homeless Coalition.
