Inept Cost $ 1 Billion

Obama Fan Published:

Hear that?  Nope of course not because nobody is reporting that the healthcare.gov website is approaching $1 BILLION that's Billion with a B of taxpayer dollars.  And with that BILLION some states like Orgeon still don't have a functioning exchange.  Maybe Obama will see it on the news one night about how his FAILED website costs us poor folks $.  Seems he finds out most of his failures from the news.  Well what's a couple bucks to a man whose wealth has grown 438% to over 7 MILLION in the last couple years.  While the middle class he promised to help still struggles to pay bills.  That's how socialists survive they get in power make themselves rich forcd their ideals and agendas in others.  Then they go broke and become a slave to a socialist government they must now depend to survive.

  • I would settle for Obama Fan to post something that is real and not a complete ruse that he seems so susceptable to...I guess that is why they call it the Repug "base". It doesn't have to be positive, just not Bull Puckey, which is all he ever posts.  I tire of correcting his fact free posts.

  • You big O basher....do you  E V E R  have anything positive to say..?

This crap is getting old. Shut your trap for a while or come up with something positive.

  • Wrong again, you jackwagon!  You know, you could look this stuff up before you make a complete fool out of yourself by posting some unsubstantiated right wing propaganda. Cover Oregon is the state exchange like Kentucky's "kynect", which has been highly successful. Oregon should have just consulted with Kentucky to work out the bugs in its system. All of these exchanges are designed and built by private sector contractors, and just like doctors, there are some who are better than others. The healthcare.gov website is enormously complex as it connects the 26 states that refused to set up their own exchanges because their Repugnican leadership decided to try to sabotage the ACA in some failed political stunt.  They threw all of their uninsured citizens under the bus in the process.  Repugnicans, can't live with them, can't kill them!;-)

"The Oregon Health Insurance Exchange, Cover Oregon, is the official Oregon State marketplace for health insurance under Obamacare. You can use Cover Oregon to apply for cost-assistance, compare prices of plans and enroll in a plan that best suits you, your family or your small business. Let's do a quick overview of how Oregon's health insurance exchange works and what you need to know before shopping on your State's Marketplace.

So far, about 240,000 Oregonians have enrolled in coverage through Cover Oregon. More than 69,000 of those enrolled in private health plans, while 171,000 enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan, the state's version of Medicaid.

Cover Oregon, the Oregon health insurance marketplace will be closing down and instead Oregonians will be using healthcare.gov to get health insurance. This change will only affect individuals and families, as Oregon will still use the site to help cover Medicaid enrollees.

The switch was recommended by an advisory panel after months of deliberation as fixing the website could cost up to $78 million, while a switch to healthcare.gov would only cost about $7 million.

Despite it's unique difficulties Cover Oregon was able to help about 69,000 Oregonians get enrolled in private plans and due to it's choice to expand Medicaid was able to get 171,000 more of their working poor health insurance under the ACA. Sadly this is a case where good intentions didn't have optimal results, but a stumble at the starting line won't stop Oregon from reducing it's uninsured rate over the next few years and that of course is the bottom line.

Please note as of this update April 25th, the Oregon has not officially changed it's marketplace to healthcare.gov for individuals and families."
