What in the world is going on in this town?
It seems like there are drug arrests of some sort going on every week in this, the capital city of Kentucky. There are organized crime organizations, robberies, home invasions, thefts, more robberies ( I'd hate to work at Swifty's, seems its robbed weekly) all to get money for pills.
We had an ATM stolen to get the money to buy pills. We have copper thefts to buy pills. We have groups of people traveling to Florida to bring pills back.
How did this occur? It didn't just happen overnight. These organized crime groups didn't just spring up. Why is it so up front now?
Were our heads stuck in the sand? Is it Sheriff Melton's self declared war on drugs in Franklin County, or is the State Journal reporting this more often?
Whatever it is, I am so glad and proud of our law enforcement and Court Officers for risking their lives to reduce this pill dealing which most certaining is the reason for the uptick in crime.
