Senate bill 129, what to do

Published:

Kentucky State Senator Perry Clark has filed Senate Bill 129 the Gatewood Galbraith Memorial Medical Marijuana Act. It calls for the rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule II which allows it to be prescribed by a doctor. The State Pharmacy Board will be responsible for setting up rules for prescribing and dispensing.
Time for those who support Medical Marijuana in Kentucky to get to work. On Monday the bill will be sent to judiciary and we must watch for it to come up so we can flood the meeting. You can follow the bills progress at the Kentucky Legislative website-

In the mean time you can do the following---
Go to the Kentucky Legislative website at this page-

http://www.lrc.ky.gov/whoswho/email.htm

This page lists all the members of the Kentucky General Assembly and their E-mail addresses. Senators on the left Representatives of the House on the right. Kind of appropriate don't you think! Using this list it is relatively easy to write every member of the assembly every day. The members who have e-mail addresses with @lrc.ky.gov you can write directly. I put all these in my address book and send them all at once. The names with a (click here) button bring up a form that you fill out. After the first you can just click your way through the rest. Then paste in your letter and hit submit information, go back to the list and click up the next legislator. I usually am able to write everybody in a few hours.
If we can flood the Senate with mail asking them to pass the bill and the House with letters calling for passage of a companion bill maybe we can accomplish something. I've had many people tell me that my writing the assembly would not accomplish anything, but here we are. Senator Perry honored me by calling me personally when he filed the bill. If we write every chance we can and keep it up we may just do it! One thing is sure, if we do nothing, nothing will happen. Below are 2 sample letters that you can use. If you know or have a personal relationship with a particular Legislator, add that in your letter. You can write all of the legislators. You are not restricted to only writing your own. I write all of them, and often!

Senate letter sample-
