The recently House Bill 256 "Mar 6-reported favorably, to Rules with Committee Substitute, committee amendment (1-title) ; taken from Rules; placed in the Orders of the Day for Wednesday, March 7, 2012; floor amendments (1) (2) (3) and (4) filed to Committee Substitute".

This contains language that SUSPENDS our COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) with no date for reinstatement. We have been underfunded since 1992 when the retirement system was at 125% of needed funding due to economy getting ready to take off.
Legislators warned again and again to not do this because it WILL go down someday. 17 years of underfunding and how does the legislature fix this 17 year problem. They kill our raise for their ineptness for an unstated amount of time.
I know you won't do this but I'll ask anyway, please call 564-8100 and tell these ignorant legislators to quit messing with our money. Most of us can barely get by now. We are called "double dippers" if we get a job at McDonalds.
We retirees are many and the legislators are few but they control how we live.

Watch how your legislators in the other 119 counties vote and vote according in the Primary too.
