It's campaign time again, get ready to have none of your questions answered and to have no clear idea of the plans of each candidate. Hours of presidential debates will yield zero hope for average citizens. Get ready to hear generalizations such as, "I want to help the American people" and "I think we need a change for the better" as well as "I'm going to put politics aside and do what's right for people." These and other statements are spouted almost automatically by the candidates in presidential campaigns. Debates are now isolated arguments of no consequence. Rarely, if at all, do you see a candidate make a straight promise and deliver on that promise. The debates have become entertainment television, not an informative inside look into each candidate's policies and ideas. Debates are comfortable to politicians, they have the opportunity to spout off all the policy jargon they have in their head, and are also able to show off their greatest public speaking skill in which they dodge questions with an amazingly smooth transition. So, enjoy the debates that are full of nothing but fluff and nonsense.
